***UPDATE*** Nothing. Nothing happened. The cop is no longer there. It was dark so we have no idea what happened down the street. My Jayhawks lost too, so now I don't feel good, I'm suspicious of my neighbors, and I'm grumpy. Very grumpy. Good night.
Me and Hubs. We had the binocs out and all. Sometimes we get cops on the street. And we peek. Oh yes we do. It's a very quiet street we live on, but a couple of the houses were rented out, and they always seem to draw the po-pos. One time, they moved in with like....five swat dudes. No lie. They peacefully took a man out of the house. We were told that the guy simply had a warrant out for his arrest. A couple of times it's been for elderly people being sick, so ambus came too. There have been a couple of fairly decent-sized fires.
Now there is a cop who came quietly up the street shining a large spotlight on house numbers trying to find a house....he finally parked and sat...and then a car drove up and went slowly by him and parked on the wrong side of the road two houses down. Then.....the cop car slid up on that car, people got out, one ran to a house, the other talked to the cop. The cop went up to the door and went inside.
He's still there. We're sitting here waiting....one eye on the basketball games, another with the binocs ready and aimed....

Oh now, this is HILARIOUS! PLEASE come back and let us know what happens next. HAHAHA!
Let us know what happened! I don't know if I could go to sleep at your house tonight, just knowing the cops were still outside and something could happen at any second.
Ooh I tend to be nosy too! Lowering the volume on the TV when something's going down nearby. Let me know if anything happens. It's fairly quiet tonight so I've got nothing but UNC and Kansas to keep my interest.
I just turned my computer back on to tell you sorry for your loss :(
They put up a fight though.
okay, I confess, I LOVE this stuff. I'm a total true crime junkie. you must tell us all you found out
OMG! Talk about your neighborhood watch. Do you all live on Lakeview Terrace? Binoculars and all.......LOL
I'll tell you a secret. It was all an elaborate ruse by your blogging friends to get to you post about it.
I didn't think you would...
...but...
[looking forward to the sequel]
I am anxious to find out what happened! My hubs and I do the same things too! We are the self proclaimed two person neighborhood watch on our street.
Man, I really thought the Jayhawks would do better than that this year! Grrrrr, that really hurt my bracket selections.
Okay, here is what happened:
The cop and these people are in a smuggling business (diamonds, drugs, whathaveyou), but the two people (we'll call them Bert and Ernie) are trying to renege on the deal, they think that the cop (we'll call him Count Copula) is taking too much money.
So Count Copula had to come by and bust some butt. Bert now has a fractured skull and Ernie has suffiecntly wet his pants for the next two weeks because Count Copula said that he would send him to prison.
But Ernie can't go to prison, because he helped put his old rival smuggler Big Bird in prison. And Big Bird is the big guy in prision, so Ernie doesn't want to go there, because he knows that he will be killed or shanked or both.
That's all it was, TOOJ, that's all!
I'm sorry your team lost but I am happy that My Spartans won! Sorry to rub it in.
I love finding out neighborhood gossip- we SO would have done the same thing!
