I Promise! I'll Be Back

For the first time in my blogging life, I will probably NOT be able to go back and read ALL of the posts (from each of you) that I've missed since I unplugged our home computer. That makes me sad. It also makes me sad that I had 86 followers, but since the week has passed with no blogging, I now have 85. Stick with me, folks, I'll be back in full swing soon enough.

I do plan on tackling the big, bad computer and its virus this weekend, figure out what I'm dealing with, and possibly rebooting the entire operating system. I will need the help of my best girlfriend's fiance (read: computer dude) and my sister (read: external hard drive knowledge holder), so let's cross our fingers they are available. The fiance called me whiny, so now he'll have to deal with my 'tude AND the computer questions.

For now, here are some quick updates on the Tooj house:

Tooj: Working ass off at work and it feels good. Took class yesterday titled "Overcoming Employee Resistance to Change". Take a stab at how life at work has been based on THAT. :)

Hubs: He's been home with OJ for the past three days. OJ couldn't seem to kick cold-like symptoms or labored breathing at times (symptoms we experienced with TO when he turned about two until after he was three, asthma on-set). We took him to the doc on Monday and we're treating him for a lung infection and asthma and hoping it doesn't worsen into pneumonia. This weather can bite my rear.

OJ: That was his update too. So I suppose I could tell you that Hubs does NOT particularly enjoy staying at home with OJ and is now discussing the idea of taking some classes. He's got too much time on his hands and I need him to get back to work. ASAP.

TO: He has already started the "I don't like school" mantra, so I'm digging up ways to fight it. I think he gets fatigued with the work, and the day is long. His teacher is very disciplined and "about the work" more than a regular kindergarten "feel good" teacher might be. You know what I mean, right? There's the "let's hold hands, feel good, and play all day" types....and then there's the teachers that are "about the business" of learning. He's doing really well and for being a kindergartener but doing all first grade work, he's leading the pack with the "masteries" they do. I'm proud, even if he thinks school isn't fun. :)

Till: Teenage crap. Need I say more? UGH. But lately he's provided Hubs and I with a handful of laughs, stating the most inane things when posed with a question. For example, we were trying to get him comfortable doing simple division in his head instead of on paper and understanding how it can relate to "real life". Simple things like 17 divided by 3. The question went like this:

"If you had 17 breadsticks (we'd had pizza for dinner) and you, TO, and OJ were going to get equal shares, how would we divide them up?"

The answer we wanted was, "We'd each get five and then two thirds of the remaining two sticks."

The answer we got was, "We just pass them out and eat them until they're gone."

Seriously????

Hahahaha! I love his answer! That right there is a little something we like to call "street smarts."

Hahahaha... Till's answer seems pretty logical to me! But, i agree, it doesn't help in a 'learn division' capacity. Do what you gotta do and we'll be here when you get back.

I feel your pain with the computer virus. I was down for probably two weeks because one attacked my computer! UGH
