I haven't picked up a book in quite awhile. Probably since I blogged about those two books awhile back. You know, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and The Time Traveler's Wife? Yup, that was September, people. I am overdue for reading. It'd be great if the computer wasn't such a damn draw.
The great thing about this problem I have? I have books stacked up that I haven't yet read. I borrowed Dred Scott's Revenge from my sister and have yet to really start it. I've read the intro or the first chapter, but never got around to delving deep.
I received Let the Great World Spin as a gift for being my friend's wedding attendant in April. I've started it and read a couple of chapters the few times I can sneak off to the bathroom and lock the door. Yes, I said bathroom. And I was doing bathroom things too.
I have half-read a book called The Bond, still haven't read Malcolm X, and need to try and read another chunk of Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom. Yeah, I started that one over two years ago. It's a LONG book, people. LONG. And very detailed which requires a lot of concentration. I happen to be running a bit low on that lately.
SO, I'm off to read some tonight. And I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. In between night cries, dirty diapers, and sitting here worrying about TO. He just went to the doc's urgent care for the hives he's had off and on since Monday, and the lump that's formed on the back of his knee. Can't these kids stop hyper-reacting to every allergen known to man? Seriously?

Sounds like a pretty good reading list.
Short of making TO a bubble boy, there seems only the hope he builds up some resistance to what bugs him. I hope he does soon.
Sounds like good times ahead- for you and reading NOT TO and his ailing body. Poor kid can't catch a break.
Happy reading. I just picked up The Happiness Project yesterday so we'll see what all the hype is about.
Forgive me (sometimes I can be ignorant....sometimes ;) ) but is the Malcolm X book his autobiography? If it is, I read that in high school...very interesting read!
Have fun reading! I have been reading Twilight books (what else?) in anticipation of Eclipse next week and also doing some nonfiction. But I'd really like to read another nonfiction book!
Michelle, yup. That's the book. I've never had to read it, so I never did....and I asked for it a couple of Christmases ago and never sat down to read it. :)
HEY!
First off--a very late congratulations on your beautiful Evelyn. That is such a classic and elegant name. And look at what a doll she is. I hope that big brothers are loving on her!
I was secretly hoping you'd have a girl--balance you out with all that testosterone! :)
And. . .reading. . . for fun? As in spare time without a computer? What on earth is that like?! And I think lots of people read in the bathroom...which is why Seinfeld had an episode about it!
