Life is choppy at best. It doesn't let you cut corners without taking a sharp knock at the knee. And it still goes 'round even if it's not always smooth sailing.

Showers
I'm confused.
Especially since the kid happens to be wimp who doesn't like getting his face wet. Yeah yeah, we've slacked on the wimpy front when it comes to swimming and water.
TO loves baths. He likes to lounge in them, play in them, hang in them. But he's very sensitive if I happen to get water down his face when he hasn't been warned that I'm coming at him with a rag, and the few showers he's experienced haven't gone over very well.
He also has a problem with getting his face wet during swimming. And that's probably our fault. He hasn't taken any formal swim lessons like all other "normal" kids his grand age of 5. I'm old school and have a really difficult time coming to terms that I'll have to PAY someone ELSE to teach my kid to swim. Especially when I can swim just fine.
BUT...we don't go swimming often enough to truly teach him and for him to feel comfortable, so to suburban life of YMCA lessons we go. Blah.
Back to the showers. Any suggestions? My main idea right now is to make Hubs teach him. I'm just too big and tired.

Monday Mumbles
1. I would like to give you just a few quotes that have been spoken to me. You can interpret them and envision the scenario ANY WAY YOU WISH. :)
2. "I'm not going to do it."
3. "I'm just in a mood today. Isn't everyone entitled to a mood once in awhile?"
4. I'm just a complainer. I complain. That's what I do, that's who I am."
5. Okay, enough of that. But I had to get it out. I.HAD.TO.GET.IT.OUT.
6. This weekend I was able to see three girlfriends, two of their mothers and my own, have lunch with all of them, and celebrate the impending marriage of my best girlie friend. And then we topped that off with dinner with my siblings and birthday cake for my mom. It was a wonderful Saturday.
7. I love my boys. All of them. Even when I really detest them (and each one was detested at some point this weekend), I truly love their presence.
8. Based on a conversation between myself, my husband, and his best friend...I wonder sometimes....where the lines blur between dreaming, living, working. Are some people so consumed with dreaming about what they WANT that they never actually live? Do we start thinking that our working IS our living, but then realize it's not actually living at all? Do we keep balance in our lives enough to know the difference?
9. OJ has regressed. He has been sleeping in his toddler bed since he was 15 months old, I think. And it's been okay. Until a week or two ago. Then he started waking up every few hours in the night, opening the door, and coming into my room. So I got fed up and offered him the crib in hopes that he'd WANT to be a big boy. Nope. He was EXCITED to be a baby and sleep in the crib. So that's where he is. Damn. I should have known.
10. I already have dinner prepared for dinner. All that has to be cooked are the biscuits. How exciting to actually have prepped ahead of time!! What's for dinner for you tonight?

Monday Mumbles
1. I promise, we're on the road to internet recovery. My best girlfriend has this amazing fiance. He understands computers, and he's taken ours to get better. Now we just need to find him a nice gift to say "thanks". Of course, I think giving up my friend to him come April is enough, but hey.....
2. My Jayhawks lost their second game this basketball-filled weekend. I'm okay with this...there can only be one winner, but I just need to get through the day of harassment that I'm sure to endure. I've braced myself, and survived round one.
3. A chick here at work underwent a boob reduction, and she just returned to work today. Looking FABULOUS I might add. I've never been so amazed with a woman's chest before, but I blame this partially on baby hormones.
4. Speaking of baby, wanna know something interesting? I had the linea nigra with both TO and OJ. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, it's a darker pigmented line that appears on your belly, from the button to your "area". Like I said, I had it with the boys....I do NOT have it currently with this pregnancy. Hmmm.
5. I loved when you all gave me a Mumble of your own. Will you please do so again?
6. OJ is refusing to go potty ON the potty. The school won't force him to sit there, and they aren't very forceful with him. I'm not sure how we're going to accomplish this given his personality and their lack of adjustment for it. I was hoping to be done buying him diapers when baby came.
7. We went and had pictures taken last week and I picked them up Saturday. TO got his "5 year" pics taken (yes yes, 7 months late, but he's still five!!) and OJ got his "2 year" pics taken (yes yes, 1 month early). We also took a family pic. I might try and snap a picture of the picture and upload it once my girlfriend's fiance returns my computer. :)
8. Oh yes, and belly shots. Be quiet.
9. I get to see the doc tomorrow so you'll get a weight gain update. I refrain from posting my weight because women don't like to talk about weight. Just know that I gain sufficiently from my starting point, and as of two weeks ago, I'd gained 14 total and surpassed my sister's standard, everyday weight. I'm sure tomorrow I can report an even greater gain.
10. It was weird. This weekend, I actually enjoyed my husband. That sounds bad, I'm sure...but we've been together so long that he oftentimes annoys me in between entertaining me. He didn't annoy me so much this weekend. I might have to tell him that.

I Need Help
We bought a router last night. And I am 98% sure I hooked everything up right. I plugged the phone/DSL cord into the wall. I plugged it into the modem. I plugged the ethernet cord into the modem and then attached it to the router. I then plugged the internet cable the router came with into the router and then into the computer. I then attached the power cords for the modem and the router into their respective unit and plugged them into the power strip.
The internet would NOT come up. Well, I take that back. When I first opened the 'net, our home page came up. But then nothing. I couldn't go to another site. I couldn't navigate from the home page. It was like there was no connection. I tried plugging in the http:// code number thingy that is supposed to re-boot our connection if we have issues. Nada.
I will try again tonight and see what happens. If nothing happens, I'll call my provider. If they can't walk me through it on the phone, then I don't know. Buy a new computer? Start taking up donations? Pan handle outside my work during lunch? I figure it'd be more useful asking from people who know me and might have sympathy than those who don't, right? I mean, I AM 6 months pregnant after all. I look pathetic and needy, right?
How are you? Tell me about your Tuesday, please. Fill me in on anything exciting or unexciting. Just something.

Monday Mumbles
1. OJ has been biting himself. Weird. What's even stranger is that he does it when he's playing. It's not like he's angry and finding a vent method. Is it a sensory thing? A "what will happen if..." thing?
2. Hubs and I always struggle agreeing on names for babies. Especially boy names because he won't even discuss girl names. He never thinks it's a girl baby so he "allows" me to pick whatever I want. I told him the other day that we are so awful at deciding on names that we shouldn't be allowed to have children. It's seriously a HUGE struggle for us. I've always liked our outcomes, but the process....good GRACIOUS.
3. Friday night we went and bought paint for our bathroom. FINALLY. Remember the flood of '09? That happened in the summer? And how we tiled our floor? Yeah, well, we never painted or put baseboards up. The bathroom has been in limbo for half a year. The ONLY bathroom in the house, mind you. When the boys and I were at my mom's, Hubs painted. Yea!! And baseboards are bought and ready to be finished. Soon. Very soon it'll look normal again.
4. TO lost his second tooth at my mom's this weekend. It was just a matter of time since his adult tooth was already pushing up. The baby tooth had no chance.
5. I park in an outside lot for work. The spaces are small. The lot gets full. There has been a small 2 door Mitsubishi parking in my vicinity for the last couple of weeks. An older lady. Older as in 50s probably. She backs into her spot. And she doesn't do a good job, or doesn't TRY and do a good job. I got tired of her taking up two spots one day and left her a note on her windshield: "If you could only take up one spot, that would be appreciated. This lot tends to get full." Since the note? She's been a very good parking buddy.
6. Doc appointment today. Weigh in and glucose testing time. Should be exciting!
7. I mentioned a hair cut and belly shots and I realize that I cannot upload and share pictures until I reconnect at home. Sorry about that, but I'm cheap and haven't gone to buy a router yet.
8. We've seen the sun and 50+ degrees for the last few days. My mood is suddenly much brighter. I love the sun. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
9. Pregnancy and the baby jumping on my intestines doesn't always do good things for gas in my belly. Last night I went to bed and Hubs came in the room. I gassed him out. And you know what? I didn't feel bad. Not one bit.
10. I visited so many of you this weekend and it felt GREAT. I may have only read one post, but I was THERE. For most of you. I'll finish up the rest of you this week (here at work...shhhh). Take care and have a great Monday!

I'm Connected!
This morning, TO and OJ and I left home at 9:30 and headed to my hair appointment. I LOVE my cut. My stylist is the wife of Hubs' friend and she does a fabulous job. Funny side note - we are both due with baby #3 on June 15th. Technically my doc bumped me to June 8th and she's got a scheduled C-section for the 9th, but still....we are exactly the same in our pregnancies. Fun stuff. The first thing we talked about was that she thought she looked fatter than me and I told her that her boobs looked fabulous. And they did - huge ol' melons. She said that her women clients are constantly making comments about them. Deservedly so, if I say so myself.
After the cut, the boys and I hopped back in the car, hit McDonald's, and then the highway to head to my mom's. We watched the Jayhawks beat up on their border state rival Tigers and then went outside for 60 degree windy weather and some T-ball action.
Right now, TO is on the Wii, OJ is playing with play-doh,and we're waiting on dinner (roast, potatoes, and carrots). I'm off to read what you've all been up to - enjoy your weekends!

Monday Mumbles
1. Computer at home has gone through phase one of virus detailing. Meaning, I saved all my photos and the few documents that mattered to my little sister's external hard drive. I plan on buying one, but this was faster. Thanks, Leslie.
2. In case you're wondering, I also ran a malware bytes disc to see what it found, and there were six infected objects. I deleted them, but I still don't feel comfy. Phase two is to buy a new router/firewall thingamabob.
3. OJ is feeling better...thanks for the well wishes. Of course this morning TO woke up with a terrible sounding cough that I immediately treated with the nebulizer and we'll aggressively treat with asthma meds to ensure it doesn't progress. Hopefully we can keep him off antibiotics.
4. Good news is on the horizon, it appears. We're supposed to finally see 40 degrees F this week. I am hoping that helps cure all ills that asthma people are suffering from.
5. In case you are wondering, I blame Hubs for the asthma thing. (And any other illness they come up with, but definitely the asthma thing.)
6. I am going to try and remember to ask Hubs to take some belly shots tonight or tomorrow. I will then have to figure out how to upload them to here...since I'm still without internet at home. :) In the meantime, does it comfort you to know that OJ kisses my belly...a LOT.....and says "babeee...baaabee"...and then proceeds to kick it when he's getting his diaper changed?
7. Right now, baby is kicking me because it's lunch time.
8. My hair is way too long and I look like a shaggy dog. To steal the words from a co-worker who should be kicked. No, not Michelle.
9. My work life is far from dull any longer. Hence the no time to blog or read blogs anymore. The stories I get to tell Hubs and Michelle....my oh my. I've been very woo-sah (look up the movie "Bad Boys" if you don't know this term) through this pregnancy, trying to remain calm and collected. The women I deal with now are trying very hard to break me of this, but I'm standing strong. What I find sad are the ages of these particular trouble makers. 40 and 56. Seriously?
10. In the meantime, I comfort myself with food. Glorious food. Speaking of which....lunch time!! I'm off to find something tasty and glorious. Okay, or just greasy. Whatever.
