Monday Mumbles

Who's ready for Monday? Come on...who's coming with me? Who's ready? Who's awake? Who's.....tired?

1. I know I'm doing something right when my 7 year old hears "I Hate Myself For Loving You" (a la Joan Jett) on the car radio and says thoughtfully..."I know this song." It plays for another 30 seconds while yours truly belts it out and then he goes, "It's the Sunday Night Football song!" Yes, my wonderful little boy, yes it is.

2. Speaking of football, that wonderful little boy just got signed up for his first taste of it. Flag football this spring. I can't wait to see if he likes it!

3. Even more so, I cannot wait to be the parent on the sideline again, camera in hand. I LOVE coaching basketball, but I miss having photos of the games. I'd ask Hubs, but he's doing his best just watching OJ and EJ and still attempting to catch most of the game.

4. TO had one of his basketball buddies over Friday night. While I was in the midst of setting up their beds and asking the boys pertinent questions and blankets, he said to me with a confused grin, "You are acting like my MOM....no offense." I took that as a compliment meaning I act like a coach in practice and not like a coddling "are you alright baby" kinda MOM.

5. I just took my Facebook friends from 171 to 152 this weekend. Not gonna lie. It felt great.

6. My mom, Evelyn, and I took an hour and a half car ride Saturday afternoon. Evelyn was NOT at all pleased with being in the car. We stopped after an hour to get my sister and my mom hopped in the back with her. While she attempted to sooth the grumpy little turd, Evelyn decided to remove her shoe, remove her sock, take my mom's hand and guide it to her leg. When mom's leg patting was clearly the wrong move, Evelyn took her hand once more and placed it directly on her foot. And this is how my mom learned that her granddaughter is spoiled beyond all imaginable and receives foot rubs in the car.

7. Some of you know me, some of you have been reading long enough to know, but some of you newbies don't really know how much I love sports. I don't post a lot of "MY TEAM DID..." on here, but you all need to know. I love my Kansas Jayhawks. I love my Oakland Raiders. I love my Kansas City Royals. I'm gaining a fast appreciation for Sporting KC Soccer while my interest in boxing is waning.

8. Oh, and I'm not a casual fan. Sure, as a mom, I might have to miss a few games now and then due to activities. But given a chance to attend a purse and gossip party or hang with Hubs and his friends to watch the game.....?  I'm picking the game. Every time.

9. Unless the host of the purse party happened to be married to some really hot football player and he would be in attendance to assist with the veggie tray. I mean, I am still a chick after all.

10. OJ never stays in his bed. I vaguely recall my parents saying someone else did that when they were younger, but I don't know who they were hinting at. Anyhow, when I put OJ to bed, he is never IN his bed when TO heads in for the night. He's generally on the floor. Sunday night, I told him, "OJ, I do NOT want to see you on the floor when TO comes to bed. It's too chilly down there." He nodded his compliance. When I took TO in, OJ was NOT on the floor!! He listened! No floor bed for him. Instead, he was tucked snugly in TO's bed. At least he listened, right?

A foot rub. in the car. Yes. Evelyn is still a girl after my own heart.

I wish I was into sports more than I am. The only thing I really like is basketball and some baseball. A live San Antonio Spurs game is heaven for me.

Actually, I can get into ANY sports as long as I'm there watching it live. It's the TV stuff I can't get into.

You are by far, the coolest sports chick I know. Hands down. =)

OJ is a restless dude huh?

I wonder why he doesn't like his own bed. (says the one that sleeps on a sofa)
